I think fish is meat. Why wouldn't fish be meat?

  • It's as much meat as a tomato is a fruit

    United States law classifies tomatoes as vegetables because this prohibits them from legally being taken to public venues, a prohibition that does not apply to oranges, grapes, etc. Catholics are allowed to eat fish on Good Friday for some reason that I thought I understood. Definition, when practical, only really occurs when there's someone's pen writing the dictionary. They don't become significant without the hand of man.

  • Obviously fish is a meat
    It breathes, moves, eats, it is a living thing, just because it comes from the sea does not mean it is no longer a meat, it can not be classed as anything else.
    People eat meat & do not eat other meats like chicken & steak for 1 reason - They do it for health issues because they need protein.
    People who become vegetarian for moral issues generally do not and I believe should not eat fish either.
    If you eat fish and no other meat you are classed as PESCATARIAN *not* VEGETARIAN
    People need to learn the difference.
    If you eat fish you should refrain from calling yourself vegetarian, you are clearly not.
    Some people do not class fish as meat most probably because it is different from all other meats, it lives in the sea, there is a larger population etc etc.
    Fish is probably also the only meat people will eat as it had more protein than other meat and maybe because they believe itis killed in a more human way, in actual fact it is not really.
    Fish are drowned, not suffocated as they live off water and die in air, the opposite to us suffocationg from loss of oxygen and drown by the intake of water.

    I believe so. It's meat to me. I mean, it has the same exact point anyway:
    It's a dead animal.
    I'm vegetarian, and I refuse to eat meat, gelatine, insects, carmine, Palm Oil and eggs that aren't ecological. But mum had somehow gotten the idea that ‘every vegetarian can eat fish’. I was so pissed at her. We had a huge fight, which ended with her saying that if I didn't eat fish, I wouldn't get to eat at home. So yeah, at home I eat fish, even if it makes me feel sick and I think it's really wrong... But it's meat, alright. (I made my point.)

  • I'm always told...
    Not to eat meat on friday due to religious belief. Although fish is ok to eat on friday.
    Fish will always be a meat to me and I find this religious belief quite contradictory.
