  • YOUR BELIEF

There is no right or wrong religion. Its what you believe in and your outlook on life. I am a Christian but dont always agree with everything my faith agrees with. My friend is free methodist and I dont always agree with them either but we are atill great friends. If you are Christian and believe that being gay is ok, then are you truely a christain because Jesus thought it was wrong. I think yes you are still a christian. But my point is there is no right or wrong religion If you are connected to god in anyway whatsoever then thats perfectly fine.. Any religion could be right or wrong.

None of Them. Each religion ahs it's flaw. No religion, no matter what they tell you, is perfect... or even RIGHT. I say look inside your heart and follow it. Why label?

  • On a scale from 1 to 10.

Religion is a complicated thing. Some, it's a comfort, others, a way of life. Personally, I believe that men recieve religion according to how willing they are to give themselves over to God. Some religions only require a baptism, others, only a profession of faith, and still others, a whole hearted conversion that affects every aspect of their life. According to how willing a person is to convert, changes how much they recieve from God. The ordinances and blessing they recieve, the knowledge they gain, it all depends on how willing they are.

Also, taken from C.S. Lewis's book The Last Battle, in his Chronicles of Narnia series, I believe that a man is blessed according to his goodness and not his belief. There are bad christians and good budhists, it's not fair that the good budhists would have to go to hell because they weren't baptised and that the bad christians get to sit on heavenly thrones and jeer at them. Thankfully, my religion doesn't believe in that fate. Anyhow...the last battle has a character, a soldier from a different land that worships a strange idol, but he's a good man. When Aslan comes (the symbol for christ) the soldier is shaken with fear because he knows now that his idol was cruel and false.

"I take to me the services which thou hast done to him," talking about the idol. "For I and he are of such different kinds that no service which is vile can be done to me, and none which is not vile can be done to him. Therefore if any man swear by Tash (the idol) and keep his oath for the oath's sake, it is by me that he has truly sworn, though he know it not, and it is I who reward him. And if any man do a cruelty in my name, then, though he says the name Aslan, it is Tash whom he serves and by Tash his deed is accepted."

It's a great series, by the way. It teaches gospel truths so simply that it's inspiring. If you haven't already read them, do so.

Well, anyways, that's how I look at religions outside Christianity, and most inside Christianity. Being a Mormon, I believe that my church is the true church of Jesus Christ, actually...the whole name is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but like I said before, that doesn't make other churches completely false. Like mentioned by others, there are true principles taught in all churches, but because of "corrosion" as it was called, many of the purest and most important principles and ordinances were lost, ordinances mentioned by Christ and prophets in the Bible. I believe that those principles and ordinances were restored with my church. Whether you believe that or not, that's your choice, I only know what I believe.

It is true that we live in a world of corruption and disease, both body and spirit, but God did not make that, we did, because not all of us live by his word and example. God gave us agency, the ability to choose, so he does not control the world's affairs, and in the things that he does have control, such as the weather and the situations in which we live, he gives us those trials to overcome...just like our math teacher giving us those pop quizes every Friday. A goal that we wish to overcome, and the materials to study by...the Bible, the Book of Mormon, Prophets, Teachers, sunday school...it is all provided, and he is also there to ask for help "after class". Whether or not we decided to study, to persevere, is our own decision, and as time progresses many have decided to flunk out. The loss of those good spirits has also determined the fate of the world in which we live. But...we would know no happiness if we knew no anguish, neither hope if we never had despair. In the end...there will only be beginnings.

  • Mine (Hear this out)

This IS the only true religion: Belife The religion is: I belive that there is a supiriour ruler(s) that have decided to create the universe. Named what ever he/she/they would like. No one name is right. Everything else (fate, soul, 'Do animals have souls?') is all extra, and in one way, is tied directly to him/her/them.

  • Who are You people?

Religion, the final frontier? or The end to all ends? In my opinion, to bind something is to bind something and this is what religion means to re tie or re join. Now according to most religions, God does not force any thing on us, we must choose for ourselves to be of service. So why should there be a need to re tie what should have never been binded in the first place? The only being or entity who would need to do that would be the devil because misery loves company. Most of the people who say they are christians are only that on the surface, within themselves they are pure evil, confused, or just plain crazy as well. Most times religion is just a crutct for those who cant deal with the reality of life and for others a most valuable thing in thier lives. Some use it for gain and glory while others use it to cheat people. But what if all the commandment of the first universal laws were followed instead of the laws made by man? How do you think the world would be and how would it view religion? If we could remember how to live and be without the use of props and propaganda we would know what the one true way of life is most like for that is the one true religion and the essence of life the one true God. Jesus never said he was God only that he was. He was not a christian for christians did not exsist until after his demise. He was a follower of the way to life who was given to us by the spirit of life to learn how to live with ourselves among other selves. For doing such a great thing for life he was given honor and glory by life and crowned king for lack of competition. there was none like his though we were all made in the image and after the likeness. I'll leave you with some famous words that we all need to focus on. "Can we all just get along?" That is the first sted to knowing the one true religion.

  • No Religion Is Correct

Seems to me every religion has it's flaws, it's misleadings and also it's branches..so it confuses me to see someone so faithful without swaying to one side somewhere along the line.

To me personally, religion is for someone who needs an alternative way to cope...or merely because they are bored and beyond existence is a mystery that aggravates them. Doesn't it bother us all that there are so many possibilities?

  • Except for mine, yours, or theirs?

If we didn't believe our religions convictions, they wouldn't be beliefs anymore. So I was tempted to vote for the one who said "mine". But you've asked what it IS, not what we THINK. Therefore, though I believe there is no god, I must say that if I knew the whole truth... who knows, maybe you'd have seen me on the knews and the world would be much different. I have no idea.

  • Haha

It is a funny question, because no one really knows if there is a one and only true religion, because humans are simply not smart enough, and are only able to live for a very short amount of time, just enough to get a strong or possibly weak opinion and say that its a fact. As a christian i believe i know nothing, and i wont ever be smart enough to tell people i know the truth, but all i know is that i can believe and know things by faith. KNOW THINGS BY FAITH, it will always come down to whether or not you choose to trust something, an extremely smart ummm atheist scholar has chosen to believe things leading up to his lack of belief in the truth of God. He really doesnt know anything either, but by his faith in what he has seen, he can say things are true. Just like a christian scholar can say the same stuff, even though a bunch of people will yell at the christian one for being a know it all lol. but still neither completely and truly know anything about what theyre saying, just believe, and it comes down to whether others will trust one or not. If you couldnt follow that comment and say so.

  • Who are we to say?

Religion has been both a source of good and evil throughout world history. It has provided people with a belief system, moral codes and practices to follow, for which it has largely kept soceity in check. However, there are countless examples of religion being used as an excuse to go around killing people, stealing from people, discriminating against people, all in the name of 'religion' or 'God'. I think organised religion is a man made thing, and like all man made things, will never be perfect. And as a mere mortal, who is to say which one is right? Perhaps they are all right. Who knows!! To me, most religions seem to be like any other social club created by humans - if they dont like your clothes, or your hair, or the fact that you are gay, you can't join. 'Born in the wrong country? Well you can forget about ever joining our religion, you're not worthy!' Or, you have start dressing a certain way, or complying with rules to 'fit in'. Hmmm...If God truly created everyone, then he created everyone to be just as they are. That means black, white, asian, and even gay, everyone was created as equal and by the same God. Therefore, it is not for any person to judge another, to decide for another whether they can follow God by joining a religion, or how they should follow God. For example, I've heard ridiculous stories of people codemning others to 'hell' because they did not follow their religion, ignoring the fact the 'non believers' were born into a country where the condemner's religion did not exist and they could never even have the chance to learn about that religion! I think in theory, religion is a good idea when used as a vehicle for delivering a positive message without discrimination, but in practice, humans tend to stuff it up by losing site of the very simple purpose - to learn how to love each other.

  • Question.

Have you ever learned about any other religion? You can't have other wise you would of known that other religions 'stand for' the same things as you put. You are a close minded person in my opinion.... I am Wiccan and I, and I think most of the people that replied to this, would never write a post insisting that there is one correct religion. I would love for you to message me and tell me why you insiste on what you have said.

  • no correct one

everytone beleives in something else and that dosen't mean that it'll lead to distruction if you don't beleive in christ or god. we were born and raised to know that the god or gods we beleive in are our saviours and so it isn't right when someone says Jesus is the only way. it isn't written in stone by gods own hand that we can't beleive in something else it is written by men who think they hear what god is saying

  • Better off with none

Surely its best not to choose a religion. lead a rich and fulfilling life and then whoever the real god is (IF?) will most likely forgive you because you didnt choose a different religion.

Hypothetically, A baby is dropped on an island and left on its own for forty years, one day some people land on the island and they are killed by the person who lives there, he then dies from injuries, should he be accepted into heaven since murder is a sin? Or should he be accepted since he wasn't taught the teachings of religion? If he is accepted into heaven then its unfair on those who are religious and if he isn't then it is unfair on those who are ignorant to religion.

    Therefore god doesnt exist

go waaaay back. apart from asian/middle east religions which go further back than i'm talking about, which religion was Jesus a follower of? he was jewish. the only religion offered was Judism or to follow the romans. so i one religion was to be "higher up" it would have to be Judism.

  • Belief without facts is ignorance

I don't BELIEVE...I know and follow what is proven to me...the Bible has too many contradictions and religions? They were created to confuse humankind and cause conflict and chaos...not to mention wars...so, I don't follow any religion...I know there is an intelligent being that created me...call him God or Jesus( Ya'shua )...I must say that if I follow any system of a kind of belief, it would be Nuwaubuism...

  • Purpose

Isn't religion just a choice of purpose? what is your purpose without religion? what is your purpose with religion? It all depends. Christianity the one purpose I have chosen, which eats me up at the same time, gives the purpose to strive to gain a relationship with a God who has created us for the sole purpose of friendship with Him. Although the fact that Satan screwed things up and gave us another purpose is still there, and almost has the same level of importance as friendship with himself. That second purpose is to share the gospel with people who have never heard it. It is not to shove it down their throats, and it is not to continously preach to the same crowd until the outcome is for him. The command of God is to share His gospel with people who have never heard it, wait for an answer and then depending on the answer disciple the person who has just accepted God into their lives so their promise to God actually forms into a lifestyle, or let them go on with their lives and you with yours. They know the truth their blood is no longer on your hands it is on theirs. If a man had walked up to a Christian not knowing the word of God, and the christian didn't share the gospel with him, and the man died the next day. The mans blood would be on the christians and his purpose would be defeated. One of them. Islams purpose is to get to heaven there are several ways, I am not very educated on this religion and I am sorry for any misunderstandings that I might have. They can either get to heaven through doing good deeds or to a special heaven through martyrdom. Of course there are many other circumstances and purposes in this religion as any other. As to which religion is totally correct this knowledge escapes me, and thus I rely on the simple human thought process of faith and believing in something which has no proof of it's correctness but every proof of it's existance. I believe my religion is the only way to heaven because it is stated in the Bible, and so I must believe it, as is my religion. Is it true... is my purpose relevant or nonexistant?... I'll put my money on it regardless as I'm sure you would do the same, and we'll see in the end

  • Jehovah's Witnesses

In my humble opinion, Jehovah's Witnesses are really the only true religion in this world. Just look at it: it is the only religion that is always known for neutrality and love for its members. It is the only religion where its members are known worldwide for their honesty and love. It is the only religion that has not been twisted by greed and false teachings. Look in the bible; it's all there. Look for what the bible says is shown in the true religion, and you will see that it is only Jehovah's Witnesses who fit that criteria.
