Why do people label some women as sluts and whores and things like that?

Men often give labels to women and when women give those labels to each other it only makes it ok for men to do it.

  • what i don't get

    if women sleep with two or three men within a short period of time they are called whores but when men date three of four women at the same time and sleep with them this is accepted and almost expected by people, why are we called whores and are they congratulated? that is what i don’t understand and no we shouldn’t be called whores or sluts cuz those are very hurtful words but in society today it is an everyday thing to hear, it is accepted to call us that and let men do what they want with no labels at all.

  • Who said it's okay to label them

    Personally I think you should respect yourself enough to not sleep around. Sleeping around never solved nothing except giving yourself a bad reputation. I do not think it’s okay for men to do it either. Some people act like they are in “heat” instead of love. If your brain is down in your pants then you’ve got a major problem. Don’t let your sex organ be the boss of your life. Ladies, sluts are for having a good time with, not for marrying. If your ultimate goal is to be used and abused only then start sleeping with as many as you can. the more, the better. The title of slut is only a couple of men away! Looking for a soul mate is alot like shopping for a car ladies. But remember, most men try to act cool and they will not tell you the straight of it, but when looking for a true mate NO man wants a model that has been driven hard enough and by enough men to receive the title of “slut.” From a man’s point of view it would be dangerous to even put your key in one of those ignitions. Men joke around alot but we are not totally stupid. Dating is one thing but marriage qualities is something totally different.

    Whether you hate my opinion or not I could care less but I’ll tell you one simple fact ladies that is the honest truth :

    Whether you realize it or not “ALL” women put out advertisments through their words and actions. Men are always looking at your advertisments and attemtping to interpret them correctly. BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU ADVERTISE FOR LADIES, FOR YOU JUST MIGHT GET YOUR WISH!! If you advertise a “slut” then do not expect “respect” to answer your ad. Today’s fun is tomorrow’s responsibility!

    If you are an adult woman then you know I’m being frank and telling the truth. If you are a teen then wise up and realize that sex and love are 2 different concepts.

    Well, perhaps because THEY ARE SLUTS. Not all women are whores and sluts, but some are, and hence deserve their labels.

    There are whores in both genders. Somtimes a woman acts offended because she doesnt realise she is a whore, i know a couple of them. And some are just misunderstood. It shouldnt upset u if some one calls u a whore.. and if it does, its probly cause u feel guilty about it.

    I think that it is wrong. even though catagorizing is somthin humans wre supposedly meant to do, i dont think it is right to do that to women. Why is it okay for guys to have sex with a defferent person each week, and “sluty” for a girl to have had sex with more that one guy?

    i think it’s acceptable for men to act like pigs because…well… most of them are pigs. i’m not trying to insult any one, but, i grew up with men for most of my life and i know how most of them work. men want power and they’re almost always horny. if you’re not going to have sex or they don’t think you’re good enough they’ll find some one else. they label women to make them feel bad so that they know they’re in charge and it’s not right. I think that if women suddenly changed and did the things men did, they would all fall over. if we had names that made them feel guilty and dirty and we used them all the time they would stop calling us whores and sluts. if any one ever really confronted a man about it they would say they were just kidding but they aren’t and they know it and i think every one else knows it too. The worst thing about it, in my opinion is, some women and girls, like me, have been raped. if they havent done anything about it, they still feel bad, guilty, used, unwanted and so much more. when a man/boy calls one of them a whore or slut it tears them apart. that is really wrong to me ‘cause they’ve already been through enough and people are just making things harder…

    Women tend to jump to conclusions ( i am a woman). Women tend to jump to the conclusions of sluts and whores by, excesive flirting, inappropriate dressing (which typically they themselves are guilty of) to much makeup, jealousy. All types of things…Women, we really should stop judging e/o (i know i judge others way to much) because guys do tend to see us as easy if we dress inappropriatly and other things…but that doesn’t give them the right to judge us however….

    Titles and lables are given often to catagorize an individual or group in order to elevate or denigrate in relation to another individual or group.

    It is up to the societal norms of that culture to establish these. They change as society changes. They change as a culture changes. An ever chenging pendulum.

    People love to label other individuals for the sake of both amusement and rivalry/jealousy.No one is whore unless and until she feels guilty of doing wrong i.e. while selling her honour for petty financial benefit, if she admits focefully that she is doing unlawful act, she may return to virtous path any time because her conscience is still alive; otherwise, she is much more than whore, and she can be labelled so.

    its because you have been led to beleive that a double standard is ok. I, a man, am, or reather was, a slut. I slept with more women then i ever ahould have and i now concider my younger days to be full of illmorral behavoir. things a shouldnot have done. i choose to call myself a slut and not the other option, not calling women slut, becuase its true.

    Women who sleep around gain nothing but a nights ‘satisfaction’ and a load of STIs i think men are even worse as they see it as some kind of conquest! I hate it when people are like that as they obviously have no self respect and they will never be able to look at relationships in a sense of no sex. Its weird but i know what i mean

  • Why are woman labelled and men aren't?

    Men like to have sex at any age. They talk about it with their friends, everyone knows about them having sex when they are teenagers. So, by labelling them “pimps” “whores” It’s just….labelling them something they are PROUD of.

    Women on the other hand, do not always sleep around. There are only a few girls who do, and those girls sometimes wear skin tight pants and shirts, and show off their body a lot. This creates a sorta of hormone in the male body, which makes them WANT to sleep with them. Which means, the women were just trying to lure the men, which results in sexual behavior.

    That’s why women are called sluts, they lure the men in, maybe not meaning to, but they end up enjoying in, so they lure MORE men in. Men, are just dolls that when looking a woman, pop up, and end up horny.

    Yes, there are some men who do this to women, but they are called what they are. Which are pimps….and those men KNOW they are pimps, and show themselves off.

    Women don’t always know they are sluts,and so when called a slut, they become insulted.

    because people are cruel, evil, malicious, conceited, wicked, narcisstic, prideful, little dumb dumbs who get their ya yas out by putting other people down. Sure, we call it as we see it, but we don’t see a human like us. We see a human who is lesser than us and thus we can call them a degrading name. Forget understanding women. I doubt I’ll ever understand people in general.

    .....between a slut and a bitch is well known. A slut will sleep with anyone, and a bitch will sleep with anyone but you.

    This is just one of the many jokes that are around regarding this very thing. Why do they exist? Some folks need to feel superior, they think they are in a position to judge.

    These sort of lables usually come from folks who feel they are moraly superior for one reeason or another.

    I noticed that most of you are calling the opposite sex names or insulting indirectly and there you have it. It started as children, we like to call each other names and sometimes it hurts if you are the target. I would say men do it more than women, but I know women do it as well. We like to call each other names. Sometimes the names have some meaning, most of the time little.

    I say it is silly, but I do it, too. When I call someone a name, it is usually in jest. Sometimes I am misunderstood.
