What or Who does GOD mean to you? What is GOD’S importance in your life??

Society9% Voted for by Kevin, Robbwindow, ennoia.
I’ve long realized that my religius and athiest friends believe in the same God.
Sounds wierd, but basically He is a manifestation of what society things is right for us to do. A combination of social relativism to for the little things and the objective moral value within us that religous people call the ‘little bit of god within us’, and athiests call the rational truth..

TRUTH9% Voted for by EarthToJim, Mujtaba H Zaidi, OHappyDagger.
God is the ultimate manifestation of WHAT IS. There are a lot of opinions on Life, the Universe and Everything… but there is ultimately only one unifying essence to creation, and that would be God.

'A Being Above Which No Greater Can Be Concieved' Simple really.

God is...6% Voted for by Mick Lane, frndofyaweh.
God is the ultimate Cause(the beginning or start of all things), the supreme, ruling, governing, omnipotent, omnipresent, being, who exists in three persons, the Father, the Son (Christ Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. oh yeah, God’s all that and a bag of chips

You're asking whom?6% Voted for by Jocelyn Davis, BT37.
Whom are you asking?
You're asking them: God is for most people who or what they want him to be. They make a god in their mind to suit themselves, and live accordingly.
You're asking me: I believe God is Love. The greatest Person known (or not known) to man. Not love as we define it, but love as He defines it: Who He is. What's that? Why don't you ask Him?
You're asking Him: God says, "I AM". He IS... other than us or the earth he made, though He holds all together. We can't put Him on paper... we have to get to know him ourselves. So why don't you go get to know Him?

I do not call what you are referring to as “God”. I call it…well, I call it a lot of things, actually, but I do not call it “God” because of the Christian connotation. It just is. It exists. It’s there. It’s a power, or a force, or a truth, or a reality, or a world, or the little boy that sells lemonade on the side of the street for a dime. Everything we see, everything we do, everything we believe, are parts of it. It is intangible and at the same time as close as our nose. It is unexplainable and at the same time it can sometimes be summarized in one word. We cannot understand it and at the same time is essentially everything we are, do, say, and think. It doesn’t follow a form or a pattern or a thought process. It is truth and it exists and few people ever really know what it is and I admit that I myself do not.
To be more concise…God is whatever you want it to be.

God IS truth!! That's why we must become one with Him!Voted for by jfritzyb.
Hey! Galatians 2:20 Once we activate Jesus in our life every day, we discover that He gives us HIS faith. As we spend more and more time with Him, we become one in words and deeds!
Firstly folks, let’s look at the modern definition of truth. (http://allpoetry.com/poem/1191207 )

God is a person, not like you or me.Voted for by Gareth Heuer.
God is a person. Not flesh and blood, but spirit (John 4:24). God created man because he loved life and would share it. To love life God gave them a free will. Man chooses to ignore God. God says ok, we'll see if your way is better, do what you want without listening to my guidance, I mean after all, I am just the creator and know what's best for you, but you have a free will, it's your choice. So that is what man is doing. And blaming God for their own mistakes.
But God has set a time limit on how long this would go on for. Sooner or later it would be clear which choice is the best, doing things God's way or your own way. There would be no need for this self rule anymore and God will take back control. That day is called Armageddon.

A Supreme Or Celestial BeingVoted for by street-crazy.
God is, in any religion, a supreme being, a celestial creature, or an eternal diety. God, supposebly, created everything and all of life and death. But in my opinion, I think God is in comparison to Santa Clause. Children believe he is real, therefor he IS real. Otherwise he does not exist.

The Eternal CycleVoted for by PurplePayne.
I don't think there is one person or thing which we can call God. I believe everything has an effect on existance. So in a way, society as a whole make up what is commonly known as God.

ah, yes: Jesus warned me about
you. The ones who believe that as a collective they can become God within themselves. It's called the new age movement and Jesus warned of this cult, rising up to usher in the Anti-christ and judgement on the Earth.April 7, 2005

Spirit
God is a spirit. He put Himself into Jesus Christ by way of the Holy Spirit. So, in respect, Christ was 100% man(flesh and blood), and is 100% God(conceived by the Holy Spirit). If you do not beleive it then that is your right and your choice but any true Christian knows this to be true.April 21, 2005

a perhaps controversial God
A concept created by primitive man at the onset of human language development, to explain the obvious order of the natural world. How long ago this occured? Who knows? Possibly as long ago as 150000 years ago, or even longer! Our Egos' would like us to believe differently, but should we really adopt a more flattering view? Can we really objectively support an approach which through cultural and language differences, has throughout recorded history (and continues currently) to result in more human death and destruction of our planet?
Is it really essential for morality and the complex, yet simple, social rules which support the very foundation of our so called civilization to be linked to ideology?
