The bible was written by mortal man. It is said to be the words of God. So if that's the case then why didn't Jesus, the son of God, write the bible himself? So are the words of the Bible actually real.

...because Jesus IS the BibleChrist is the Word incarnate. I could give some Scripture references, but this is not a dogmatic or scriptural answer. I want to do this based on reason.50% Voted for by Archus Forix, Dwn.
Well, ok there may be a bit of a jump in logic going from 'an answer in reason' to 'Jesus is the bible' but stick with me, my story gets better.
Catholics are taught, among other things, that Christ is the Word. He embodies Scripture and fulfils it. His life, has been one continual teaching which is why his earthly life is as relevant to us now as it had been 2000 years ago. Now, when I say that Christ IS the bible, I don't mean he was literally made out of paper, and all he spoke was Scripture. What I mean is that everything the Tanakh teaches, he does. From doing what God does, showing love and mercy (to numerous people), taking part in creation (by being created himself), doing wondrous things (his miracles), and above all be human, he not only embodies Scripture by living it and teaching it, but he completes it by fulfilling what was prophesied, and brings its teaching to a new and fuller meaning.
The Bible, both Jewish and Christian, shows us God. It teaches us about Him and why and how everything is. It enables us to encounter Him and to learn from Him. Christ, is God. When Christ came upon us, it wasn't meant to bring world peace, end suffering, complete our lives at the drop of a hat or a touch of a button. Christ came, to show us God. He teaches us and shows us who God is, and what we mean to Him. Scripture was written by man, I will not question that. There are inconsistencies, because it was written by man. But the whole point is that it is not the words that are important, but the truth behind those words, and they were written by man, divinely inspired by God. Christ is both true God and true man, and He is the Bible. -
PhsawHa, He died for your sins, he doesn't have to go through the tedious task of writing a book for you, thats rather selfish of you to expect, dont ya think?Voted for by Nephilem.
