It's not about wrong, ppl who cut don't want too. They just can't cope, and feel really depressed. People who are not depressed don't understand how hard it is. If you do cut you don't do it all the time, it might not be a big thing but some thing has to happen to make your depression worse and you on edge. Well that's me. Yeah i self harm, i'm not proud and i wish i was happy and didn't, like other self harmers, it's just so hard some times. Well all the time. I don't know others, but you got to be really unhappy to even want to cut your self. Your not be thinking properly. Cutting isn't for attention, but it can be a cry for help, to say that the person feels so in despair and don't know what to do. Others feel suicidal and really want to cause them self pain. Lot of people who are really depressed don't get the right help. Not enough people understand basically cause never felt bad like that, and so say stuff they don't have a right too. To feel really bad, pointless, worthless, like your life is not worth living, can't cope with any thing, and got all this sad and angry emotion that you can't get rid of, to feel like crying all the time, to just be unhappy. And so people who self harm, take their pain out on them self. Most do feel self hatred and blame them self for stuff as well.

Cutting is a great positive influence on the development of humanity. Consider for a moment what makes us human. It's not the way we walk, or how many bones are in our spine, it's that we are separate from nature. We are able to act against what would usually be considered natural impulses. When someone denies themselves the satiation of their impulses they are considered better, as someone who is celibate or sober. If separateness from nature defines us as human and not simple animals then the most unnatural things we may do should be embraced as better defining our own humanity. The willing damage to our own body in the pursuit of something ethereal is, in my opinion, a great advancement in the mental strength, not illness, of our species.

Cutting actually releases endorphines...so in a sense, it does make one feel better. However, there are quite a few more productive ways to receive endorphins and feel better beyond cutting yourself.

Just like anorexia and drugsVoted for by Dark Red Ink.
It depends what you mean by 'mentally unstable'. A cutter is still human. They're just experimenting with - or addicted to - cutting. I think they're just as mentally unstable as a person who takes drugs, drinks excessive alcohol, or has an eating disorder. All these things start off as something fun (or almost fun), but are self-harming and very addictive. So if you say an anorexic person or a druggie is 'mentally unstable', then yes, so is a cutter. Personally I think, yes, they're all mentally unstable.

Different strokes for different folks. If it’s what you do, then do it. If you do it and don’t like it, stop. If you can’t stop, get help. If you can’t get help, kill yourself… And if none of this seems to work for you. Buy, and eat ice cream. Yup. Go ahead and splurge. I don’t know of anything better at making people feel good then good ole fashion ice cream… MMmmm MMmmmm Goood : )

right emotionally wrong physicallyYes I am a cutter,Voted for by sweetibrandy06.
From some of the very harsh oppinions I read above.
I have seen that alot of peopple are very ignorant.
I have been self mutalating for over 3 1/2 years and I am not stupid 'nor' crazy, I am actually very intelegent and more sane then most.
Honestly i don't understand why people are leaving comments about thier oppinions on self-mutilation when they heave no clue on why or what leads to self-mutilation.
I mean sometimes in certin cases from my own experiences some do it beacuse that is the only thing they have controll over. for example some kids, teens, and adults have been mentally, physically, sexually abused and wich they had no controll over and when it comes down to it you can sit down some ware alone and take that razor or what ever the person uses and controll were you cut how you cut and how much and when you cut.
also from experonce some do it as an excape from all the pain that they have endurd beacuse they have no other alturnative.
i am not trying to justify me cutting or anyone else cutting beacuse i know it is wrong but for some it is the only way to be okay.
that does not make the person any more or less than you are cutters are still human and still desrve equal tretment in this world.
well i could sit here and type on this subject for hours but i belive i have pretty much gave you my oppinion.

I think I have a cutting edge solution...If you know someone who takes a knife and purposefully cuts into their flesh; send them to mediacal school to be a surgeon. This will be a good outlet to their cutting needs. Problem solved...Voted for by dollar.
No but really if you are always cutting yourself look in the mirror and look at who you are cutting. See the person you are turning into. Don't look back in the years to come in regret. There aren't any health benifits from cutting yourself that i'm aware of...but I won't tell you if its right or wrong that your choice to make. Just know there are people who care about you.
The biggest reason why people get to the point where they feel they need to hurt themselves is because they don't talk to somebody. When you don't talk to anybody you feel alone and unwanted when in reality this is not true. I'm not talking about talk like Hello and Goodbye. I mean talk about deep stuff that has been, shall I say, cutting at your heart.
