The question lies within your sentence is of your own belief. Belief in life and to the awnsers of death. Living is an experience which is one of many things and should be explored. As for death, it should be treated as a part of life and not an end as you state. who is to know what lies beyond death.

Well, if you're seriously asking...6% Voted for by Jocelyn Davis, Sachiel Hijikata, SolaceInTears.
The purpose does exist, or you wouldn't be asking that question. You wouldn't feel the lack of something non-existent.
Now what is the purpose? To love... and be loved. Think it's dumb? Think again... tell me you never loved anything or anyone, or that the most important thing to you isn't the acceptance of someone or something... or that the thing that kills you most isn't when you don't get that acceptance and love... When you think about it, it makes sense.

The Point4% Voted for by yourbentangel, packer1.
The point would be this, If you believe in creation, then you know that we were created in the image of god to do his will. To live is to die, it is the circle of life and however corny that may sound it is so very true. I believe that our main purpose is to fulfill a destiny already chosen for us. Almost along the lines "you cannot pick and choose who you fall in love with, your heart does"

Not our decisionVoted for by DawnBaby.
I think the purpose of living is quite obvious, at least for me it is. Since we did not ask to be born, obviously it is not our choice to be alive. As much as it is not our choice to live, it is also not our choice to die. This life is short and mysterious, our life form began here on earth by a process which cannot be proven in any concrete or scientific way. Just that alone is enough to keep me alive until I die, what is next....exciting, but I can wait.

People are _different_Voted for by LoveTripper.
Live for yourself or live for others, or whatever. Naturally, to every person it's different.
But anyways, why bother with such a question in the first place? If you think there is no point in living, the only person who can change that is yourself.

waste of timeVoted for by Illuminati x.
I was just thinking the same thing. Life just seems like a big waste of time. Why bother when in the end we all rot and nothing is remembered?

IT just doesn't make senseVoted for by VanishingCyanSunday.
If there is no purpose to the universe and everyone someday shares the same fate, what is the point of morality? All moral boundaries are subjective anyway. What is holy to one is sin to another. Why base my life around some abstract notion of moral superiority when I am going to die regardless of any good deeds I may or may not do? So then what is the point of it.......?

Interesting questionVoted for by -TheLoneWolf-.
My strongest belief is that we live to understand... What is the point of our lives? What do we have to accoplish? What is the whole point of our lives? Once we understand it we move on to other worlds.

Get a life!Voted for by Alexander Hine.
If you are honestly short sighted enough to be asking these sorts of questions and imagining that they make you deep, or thoughtful or interesting then maybe you should just kill yourself. (But I would suggest that, instead, you consider the lilies of the field, or contemplate the fact that when you breathe you are devouring the sun's rays through the process of photosynthesis in plants...just look around you and stop having such a closed mind you poor man.)

Death is life's greatest blessing. In our complicated world of influence, pain and happiness, the sense that there is nothing is the most euphoric that can exist. Play while you can. No matter what happens in life, the experience will always be worth it. This is our one chance at living, take all it has to offer and experience it.May 5

Hmm.
What's the point of being born if we're going to end up living? To live, as to live is to die. When alive, you are in a constant state of dying because you cannot stop death. That's the main reason, the reason nobody can stop, but if a person see's other reasons that those are additional meanings of why we are living, or rather, why we [choose to] continue living.Well, that's my perspective on it atleast.

.....
the reason for life scientificaly speaking....to continue the survival of the human race.....but it's not the important thing in todays world, it's what you dedicate and devote your life to, what your goal each day is. it's not living or dying, its about enjoying the time in between. Please register or login to comment!
