There are so many galaxies and so many unexplored planets. People insist there are no such things as aliens, but… come on, how would we know? Could there be another earth out there that houses beings that possibly resemble us perfectly? Could there be another Terra out there with just a different name perhaps? This brings me to the point about Mars possibly once holding intelligent life.
Are their or were there living beings on other planets? What do you guys think?

There is not a doubt in my mmind that there aren’t other lifeforms out there. In all the vastness of the universe, the odds of only ONE planet being able to sustain life in such a way that will allow growth and development is highly unlikely.
“there be another earth out there that houses beings that possibly resemble us perfectly. “
Eh. I see it likely that the planet itself will have characteristics that resmeble our own, since a planet similar to ours would be great for supporting life. But the evolution could vary wildly. Maybe they also had dinosaurs, but no mass extinction. Maybe there never were dinos. There’s just too much to go on really.
“This brings me to the point about Mars possibly once holding intelligent life.”
I kind of doubt it. What happened that made the surface of the planet completely barren of any ruins? No traces of any plantlife, and all the water is long-since frozen. Maybe they got so advanced they had a nuclear winter!

as big as the universe is how can we be so big headed to truly believe we are the only intelligent life in the universe? i am not saying alienes like those in independence day or close encounter of the third kind exist like that but “aliens” who look just like me and you, they are not evil, they do not try to take over our world or anything like that but are just like you and me and settle here every now and then for a vacation or a new setting or to learn what we know. so yes i do believe aliens exist but not as they are perciever to be in the movies…

Indeed....7% Voted for by ohsweetie970, BlackestIncarnation, Singes06, Applehead.
The universe is an infiate expansion, so there has to be some place that is able to support life. Even if it is a small one-celled organism.

Who knows? If there are, I hope they’re friendly, if not, oh well, we live and die, and all that, so what does it matter? lol

scared..5% Voted for by Defiant 1, Glamorous, ohsweetie970.
I hope not… but i find it hard to believe that there is NOT other life forms out there. I do think the image and stories of “aliens” is misinformed as no one may truly know. However I do think somethings going on out there… or possibly the aliens are “us” from eons and eons ago.
Maybe just maybe – god is rotating planets and people. Maybe everything that is happening on THIS earth this time around (which includes the dinosaurs, jesus, greek gods, and every generation thereafter) already previously happened on say venus…? If that were the case tho, i do think “he the creator” is trying to perfect it. maybe those scary futuristic things we’ve seen represented have already happened in their own way (in a past life on another planet) and this time around it’s been eliminated. he’ll get it right eventually

Thoughtful question...5% Voted for by Coconut, silverfang420, Forgotten Dust.
That is a thoughtful question… it makes us wonder. What if we’re the aliens, here? What if we’re not the superior race we claim? The subject you’ve brought up has reminded me of Contact, and the quote:
“If it is just us… it seems like a waste of space.”
I hold that quote true. That would seem like a waste of space, if there was nothing out there. Personally, I believe in aliens.

I think so. I think God must have other kids to us, in other planets that are just as nice as ours

There are no aliens3% Voted for by frndofyaweh, nihilismisdead.
I make two arguments against the existence of aliens, the first is that of probability. If the universe is infinite in material then it is impossible for there to not be other aliens, but it is not infinite in material, it is infinite in timeline. Keeping in mind the universe is finite then we have to look at the probabilty of organizing life.
de Nouy calculated this probabilty to: 2*02x(1/10321). That’s not a good odd. 1 in that makes existence? There can only be aliens if there are over 10321 solar systems in our universe. We are yet to prove the existence of over 10^321 so I cannot believe that there are aliens on other planets.

OF COURSE THERE ARE OTHER LIFE FORMS. The universe is infinite.

as a believer of God, it is arrogant to say that He created humans as the only intelligant life and it is also arrogant to say that earth is the only planet capable of sustaining life. scientifically, it is possible as well. it’s just plain out stupid to say that it is impossible for an organism to be able to live in an environment that would kill or make ill any human. there are creatures on earth that do that every day, live in heats and gasses that surely burn and sufficate most every other life form on earth. why is that not possible on other planets, is my question to those who do not believe that other sentient beings are alive, have they examined every single nook and crany of every planet right down to the core in this universe… no, so they can’t say that aliens are not real.

It is arrogant to think that, out of the billions of galaxies and many times that of planets, we are the only intelligent life in existance.

There is not. Not a doubt in my mind. Besides God saying there isn’t, it isn’t even logical. Besides there have been millions of scientists who have been trying to prove it for centuries…nothing.

YES. i’m glad to know i’m not the only one. i thought i was crazy. i’m obsessed w/ all the alien shows on tv, and wierd stuff like certain times of the night b/c they say its the most common time of day that they come. omg i could go on forever…this ties into my whole “we’re god’s puppets” thing. adam and eve fucked up so now god gave up on us and created a superior race that is better than us

to believe that we are the only source of life in the universe and beyond is extremly selfish, especially when we think about how tiny a planet we are.

UMMM DUH! I had a way interesting dream about aliens last night, it was so realistic. If the universe is infinate, anything can exist, we are so weak that we cannot comprehend infinity, but it is there, wheher we understand it or not.

i agree
the chances of Earth being the only planet with life is very slim in the vast universe.what about Area 41?what is the military hiding there?the government is hiding alot from us.if we were going to die two days from now and there was no shance of any human's survival they problably wouldn't tell us until you no we couldn't do anything like go on a killing spree or somthing like that.pnktrky
