Wicca is a form white magic. It does not involve black magic, so therefore it will not get you sent to Hell. Wicca is based soully on trying to help others, while black magic is all about one's own personal gains. Black magic is selfish, and greedy. Small like hexes using black magic will not get you sent to Hell, but bigger more powerfully incantaions will probably put you on the bad list. White magic= Good. Black magic= Bad. Not all magic will send you to Hell.

People need to stop telling other people "This will get you sent to Hell, but don't worry; you can do this and it will be okay." That's not how it works. God doesn't keep a tab of your sins.
Christians believe that Jesus is the Saviour. If you believe that he died for your sins, and you accept Him as the only way to salvation, then you are saved. Then in response to His forgiveness you strive to do good in the world.
Regardless of whether you do magic or not you are still a sinner and you will still go to Hell if you do not accept Jesus as your only way to everlasting life.
So don't go around spouting b.s. about "which sins will get you sent to hell" and "which sins are OK" when you obviously have no idea what the hell you're talking about.

First of all the definition of MAGIC is the act of harnessing the forces of nature. You all are mixing everything together. Curses, Magic, Devil Worship, Summoning, ect ARE ALL DIFFRENT THINGS. The view of Magic is warped into SATIN WORSHIPING which is not true. So please do not ask if practicing MAGIC will send you to HELL. Exspecialy if you are thinking about DEVIL WORSHIP or CURSES ect. In answer to the question MAGIC shouldn't get you sent to HELL, because all you are doing with true MAGIC is takeing your conection with nature and strengthing it enough to bend natures will. There is no PEGANISM, DEVIL WORSHIP, or PLEAGES TO EVIL SPIRTS, there is just a connection with nature and sometimes a tamperment with the 4 basic elements (Earth,Wind,Fire,Water). So please study up on that which you wish to disscuss...

Who cares if magik will get you sent to Hell. I'll stand up for what I believe in. And if that means I'm going to Hell. So be it. We've all sinned, so basically...
And how can you trust a book? I mean, it could've been all made up by some drunk guy looking for a laugh.

Yes it will, in accordance to X-tian teachings, and other such related groups. Magick, as we all know, is of the devil and therfore is against God. Rebeling against such an omnipotent being will infact be hazardous to your immortal soul.
This of course only applies to you if you subscribe to the X-tian (or related groups) teachings. If not, than Magick is just fine and dandy. Contradiction is God.

Magick and Early Christians.5% Voted for by holloweyed, Rippy, Emonquente.
It depends on what you go under and what your mentality is, I guess. As a non-Christian, I can't say that hell is real or even if it influences the things that I think or do. However, I do know that many Christians during the middle ages did practise magick. Whether or not they went to hell is obviously beyond my knowledge, but they were not persecuted and they often had the sanction of the Church.
In fact, Christianity has contributed so much to modern Western magick, that it is impossible to imagine where magick would be without its influence. The beginning of modern ceremonial magick rituals as we know it comes from the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, which was comprised mostly of Christians. These Christians wrote a series of very well-rounded rituals that were infused with the symbolism and customs of Christians. The Golden Dawn then continued to influence almost all of the great occultists of this century, especially Aleister Crowley who then influenced Gerald Gardner, the founder of Wicca.
Also, if you look at the basic and secular definition of magick, you will find that it is simply "change in conformity with Will." This means that magick is merely the art and science of changing your surroundings and environment when you want to. This hardly goes against Christian religion. If you get even further into magickal theory, you'll find that many people believe magick to work as a result of the direction of will power, or energy, to a selected goal.
This results in the idea that if God gave you energy to use, and if you were to use them in accordance with the Christian scriptures, then there is no way that you could be going against the Will of God (similar to Thomas Aquinus' Summa Theologica).

There isn't one specific act that gets you sent to hell or not. The question is do you believe that Christ died on the cross and was raised from the dead for your sins and the sins of all people? If you do, then why are you dabbling with this magic stuff? Why not serve your Lord and Savior through a means that is not sinful such as witchcraft. You are going to sin no matter who you are, but accepting that you have and knowing that you need Christ to forgive these sins is how to deal with them, not saying, "Oh woops, I once played with wiccan, I'm going to hell, may as well make the worst of it."

Personally i'm having a lot of conflicting views on what qualifies on damnation and salvation.
However, If you do believe in God, and therefore His teachings, then yeahhhh wiccan and witchcraft is not the path for you. Perhaps it's not evil, but i mean hey, god banished some guys from paradise for eating an apple. There's usually a lot of vaugeness but i think it says right on there Thou shalt have no other gods before me, or idol worship, or paganism. So i gotta say if you were to die right now, i don't think God would be too happy about all that. Soooooo yeah, reconsider your beliefs and values.

I dont think magic could get you to hell unless it was used against someone. If you are doing good then why would god send you to hell for doing good? He would be a hypocrite.

Yeah I played with magic once too, ended up with a whole lot of burnt candles and a weird smell in my room. Understanding is whats needed, Wicca is not evil, that was a result of a smear campaign by the Church. I believe in God and of Jesus's sacrifice and I feel that dammning Wiccans and magik is not something God would want us to do because its slandering and mistreating other human beings. It says in the bible that God is in every one of us and how we treat each other is how we treat God. I dont think doing magik will mean you will go to hell depends on what your intentions are. There are many people in the world that wish bad things to befall others but can go about making it happen in ways other than magik thats evil.November 12, 2005

although I have never really toyed with wiccan magick (well...unless one counts that "Light as a feather" thing) I have good belief that performing wiccan magic will not get one sent to hell. I, myself, am a Christian, but I have a few wiccan friends and my uncle is a druid. They all remind me of people who the God I believe in would love and accept into his eternal dwelling place. they all show the characterisitics of a loving, caring, humble, and helpful being, which I believe over all wins the eyes of a higher power. I believe that what would send a person to hell is the constant mistreating of his or her worldy brothers and sisters and not having any remorse or sorrow over what they do to abuse others. again, these are only my beliefs. -D-November 21, 2005

i never really get why satanism is always associated with wicca. In wicca ther is no devil no satan. there is a lucifer but he is not percived as the devil but as god of the sun. using black magick will bite u in the ass before u even die because the biggest law in magick is to harm non because whatever u do comes back three-fold.Please register or login to comment!
