I practise wicca. Yeah, big deal, to meditate. My stepfather is a x-tian, and he wrecked my foot last week by punching me to the floor and kicking me while i was there. I am 16. Do all x-tians do this, huh? You would say "don't judge us all by what one person has done to you, thats not fair." well why not the same for us? some ppl use wicca to hurt others, some of us dont. Think about what you say.

No matter how you look at it, NO9% Voted for by Mad-Hatter, NovemberRynn.
If magic DOES exist, certainly God made it so? Why will God send you to hell for something he made it possible to do? One could argue this is the same concept as the Apple, but I disagree. In this case, the only way for the original person to perform magic was if somebody taught them how. Eve could have taken that Apple anytime she wanted. She didn't do it because God showed her how. And Ritual Magic is definately a learned thing, because you don't instinctively know how to perform such rituals. And besides, wouldn't magic be sort of a miracle? Which means God is the one performing your desired action. Why send you to hell for something He's doing?
And if Magic was created by the devil, then the devil is the one performing such actions. Unless you're a Catholic, and believe that thinking about sinning is just as bad as actually doing it, then this argument makes no sense either. (however, if you ARE Catholic, it does make sense. I don't mean to tread on your religion of course. I'm stating these views from a Christian, not Catholic, perspective.)
I myself don't believe in magic, though. Why will God send me to Hell for trying to do something that isn't possible to do?

when god or whoever made this universe, didn't they use a form of magic to create everything? so then why should you be worried? just my thoughts, hope it makes sense.

Depends what kind of magick and how you use itVoted for by Jesusquest.
harnessing the power of nature, such as wicca is not necessarily banished in the bible, high magic is even used for the christian god's will. Moses harnessed god's power in his staff in the Exodus. When you use the natural magicks though for evil or selfish purposes you could be sent to hell. Using the satanic cults magick forces I think will also get you to hell.

For Wiccans, YES. And we are proud.Voted for by Silver-Shadow.
Wiccans believe that when they die, They go to Summerlands, otherwise known as Hel (One "L") So technically we will. But it's a nice place I've been told. Pretty and peaceful. WIccans do not belive in Satan, Heaven or The Xian Hell.

some Christians ay that magic is of satan, and to practice magic will lead to damnation. if this is so, then what does that say about Jesus? did he not change water into wine? some would call this Transformation. Did he not heal cripples and lepers and make the blind to see. some would call this Reiki. Did he not raise Lazarus from the dead? Some would call this Necromancy. did he not predict the future? some would call this divination.
it's not the tools that are good or evil, its how they are used.

So, you're having trouble deciding what is wrong and right, eh? This is probably because it is not you who decides what "qualifies on damnation and salvation" according to the Christian religion. If you believe in God, you're supposed to leave the damning to him, right? Then why are we having this conversation you might ask? Because we're confused because the Bible is damning us all, and we have no frikkin clue what's going on, and everybody's like: "OMG, this book here tells me that if I do blah blah, I'm going to an eternally torturous Hell because I was a naughty child!" And I'm thinking: "GAH!!!! A piece of paper is defining what is right and wrong! And to boot, it's all contradicting! "Thou shalt not allow a witch to live" is followed by "thou shalt not kill". UUMM, make up your minds!" And you're all like: "OMG, she's going to Hell, even though my Holy Book tells me not to damn people because it is not our place! We are SO not contradictory!" And I'm sittin' here like: "GAAAHHH!!!!" Yes, I went into a religious philosophy section, yes, I just posted my own view on it, and NO, I'm not saying that you should go and change ur religion because I said so. I'm just simply pissed off that on a DAILY BASIS I am critisized and *damned* just for my own beliefs, so you know what!? THESE are my beliefs. Don't like them, well then that's your opinion. Just don't try and conform me into what you believe to be true because obviously our standpoints are extremely different.
OK, I apologize for this long rant, it just needed to get out. Sorry if I'm boring you all.

Apparently so. Our souls will be tormented, alas, the world can not go on... haha yeah not i'm just being weird. Apparently I use dark magic. Not deliberately and you probably wouldn't believe me, anyway. Basically I tend to wish harm on people and it happens. For example, I wished this guy I know called Karl would lose his eyesight because he was making fun of a blind person. All of a sudden his sight started to deteririate and it was at a stable position beforehand. Also, I used to hate my form tutor Mr M, so I thought to myself, "I wish he'd break a bone or something anything for him not to come into school I hate him." Then I found out the next day that he had broke his arm and he was away for 6 months in all. It may be coincedence but people I know think not. Also that I can be slightly telepaphic as in i'm able to, not at will unfortunately, but at certain times, tell what someone is thinking. I can also get information from there brain that is scary. Like James's dad's carplate number (and i've never seen his car). So yes it's pretty strange. My friend Jordan says that i'm going to be going to hell with it, as i'm using dark magic as I know i've got it and I still try and use it... So he reckons that so... who knows. Dark magic is a weird and wonderful thing, whatever works.

I, personally, do not believe in Hell. I just don't think that the Lord, in whatever form taken, would not send His, or Her, or maybe even Its children to damnation. A lot of us may be evil, but he would not send us to Hell for not praising Him every day, or not saying thank you before we eat, or not putting enough money in the collection basket.
I have no real religion. I was baptised Christian Catholic, but I found it too corrupt and strict. God wanted us to be free, not slaves. Also, I don't understand how dipping someone in water that had a prayer said over it makes you a certain religion.
I say to all non-believers in magick: go outside, look towards the sky, and say this:
By the early light of dawn, Make today's fate be my pawn, Till the light of day be gone, and no longer can I see the sun,
And till this day no longer shine, May what chance today be mine, So let it rain!
You could of course change what it says after 'so let it', but just try it. Last time I did, it rained for five days in a row and my town's water got E. Coli. But for all uninterested in seeing that as magic, then think of it as science. By concentrating the energies of the body on what you want, you subconciously scientifically create it.
In the higher atmosphere, you condense and moisterize the air, creating a cloud of your own making, and you moisterize and saturate that cloud until it comes to the point where all clouds have to release. Alchemy.

witch/wicca explainedVoted for by trashed.
apparently the bit in the bible 'thou shalt not suffer a witch to live' is actually a mistranslation/ and the meaning has been changed to fit in with what they wanted people to do/think.... i heard this somewhere. probably when europe was all pagan and they had to throw the old gods in to disrepute. the word witch originally meant wise one or something, ie. the pagan priests.... anyhoo, as i don't believe in christianity, i'm not bothered
can anyone answer this....
why is god so obsessed in you believing in him?
surely if you're good, love your neighbour, etc, he's getting what he wants anyway? is the great and powerful almighty really so insecure? or does he just have a huge (almighty) ego?
how anyone can believe in christianity when it has such huge holes in its teachings is beyond me.... -

Magick is older than Christianity, and was banned by the Christians and their religion. In Christianity, those who practice any sort of witchcraft will be sent to hell.
In any other religion, other than Judeo-Christian practices, Magick will not get you sent to hell (due to teh fact that they only the Judeo-Christians believe Magick sending you to hell, and other religions do not believe in the Judeo-Christian hell).
I'm Pagan. I do magick. I dont believe in hell. I'm not going to hell.

Magic and HellVoted for by KnivesTheGuardian.
First off, Magic is a practice that does not involve Christianity at all. You could be Christian, and still cast spells, but that would be your choice. Or you could cast spells and NOT be a Christian. So if you didn't belive in the rules, how do they affect you? I personally am Pagan.
The point I'm trying to make is, some people belive that any casting(white, black, grey) is ALL bad. But that is your belief. Others think that certain types are bad, ie; grey, and black. And there are some, who thing that NO casting is bad. Whether or not you would get sent to "Hell(christian term)" is all up to your personal beliefs. It's all in your personal faith, on weather or not magic could get you sent to "Hell."
I say, cast away.

There are a lot of good points here. Yes, if you are Wiccan, there is no hell. No worries. And it is very clear about the Order of the Dawn and even up to the most modern Cabot Wicca, there are at least a few ideas that transfer over from Christianity. The reason, or so I'm told by my Christian friends, is that they believe the energy we use is either stolen from others or comes from the devil. Again, we don't believe in the devil, and thinking about evil gives it power.
Clearly Wiccans go to the Christian hell according to Christian beliefs. We don't go to a hell in our beliefs, because it does not exist. And since there is no right answer perfectly clear and accessable at this point in time, that will have to do.
I hate when people do not keep their minds open, and I have been told "Oh you practice Magick and are a high priestess you are going to hell. Period." I also do not say "Don't mess with forces you do not understand." Everyone knows a little bit, and to believe in Wicca is to use parts of the practice that work for you. If you don't believe in it, thats fine, but I ENCOURAGE giving it a try. You may suprised. And it is part of the Wiccan code way back to the druids and Greeks and everyone who wrote any books outlining the Wicca that there is no hell. I, however, do not follow specifics anymore and I create my own rituals. I believe in a personal hell if you make your own life miserable compared to your standards and you end up dwelling on it wherever you go after death. I also do not believe in white black and gray magick, because it is to difficult to see the specifics. I do believe in using "black" magick under some circumstances, so it becomes "white." If I do end up in hell, I'll send a postcard. If not, a lot of people will be suprised, eh? Satanism is one big scam. If satan was a real being, I think many mystics would have made note of it. He is a personification of evil. We do believe in Summerland, or after place, Hel. It's another plane of reality. I'm not scared to go to Hel, and I highly doubt there is a hell.
Blessed Be -Raven
Oh. Right. If you've ever had a dream, you've done magick, by leaving your body in the form of an astral projection and miraculously awakening in your physical body in the morning. Ta da. Maybe we're all in trouble, tee hee.

it can,if you don't stop doing it,and ask forgiveness.God says you can be forgiven for anything, and if its white magic he knows your intentions are good, but that doesn't mean he approves. If you should ask for forgiveness, you are fine,God says thou shall worship the Lord your God ,and no other shall you serve,God clearly states ALL FORMS of witch craft are wrong in the bible.Simple.But i mourn for those who don't believe,I don't want anyone to go to hell.

It's all what you believe. Hypothetically, if I toss some toads and some rosemary into a pot and say 'eep opp ork ah-ah!' and serpentyne's pinky finger falls off, would YOU send me to Hell? Raise the question 'what would Jesus do?'. In the end, personal belief matters.
To me, the holy trinity is Santa Claus: A feeling.
