Everyone is actually ignoring something. The bible contradicts ITSELF. There is no stability in the bible. In the Old Testament God punishes people for disagreeing with religion etc. In the New Testament we are told that Jesus and God forgive all and therefore surely Noone wil be sent to hell. The other thing is Jesus never said he was son of God. I believe he said I am son of man and all men are sons of god. or something along those lines. The bible itself makes no sense so how can we judge oursleves from it.

Also that Magick works along the same lines I believe anything works when it comes to God. It traces back to your intentions. If you INTEND to do wrong it is sinful. If you have no idea that what you are doing will cause harm you are not sinning. Because people who have no knowledge they did wrong, did they really do wrong? Thats an entirely new philosophical debate I'll make......

  • My thoughts
Wow. It seems like everyone's taking one of three extremes: No way, absolutely, or who cares? And everyone's telling you to shut up, which is honestly really rude. ^_^'

I've thought about this subject a lot, and these are the things I've decided.

I don't know if magic will get you sent to hell. The Bible does seem to point that way, implying that using magic is an insult to the omnipotent powers of God. . . . But after experimenting for a while, I gave magic up without ever figuring it out. First of all, I find that I'd rather spend my time in prayer--a practice which is so much less restricted than magic, in which you get to know and love Him, and which I think actually works better than magic does. Magic, when it works, which it often just doesn't, does what you want it to do. With God, that's not always the case. Because we make mistakes. We don't know what the future holds, and God does. God is always going to do what's best for you; he loves you and doesn't want you to be as well and as happy as you can be. Magic can't boast the same thing.

Secondly, and this is the part that might sound a little woo-woo . . . magic did make me more sensitive to scary things. I don't know if they're spirits or demons or what, but they can be really, really scary. And when you get into magic, especially the kind that deals with the dead and such, it makes you more likely to, well, get scared. . . . I didn't want to live with that. So I prayed, and had faith my guardian angel would fight my fears away.

These are just my experiences and thoughts on the subject. I hope this helps.

  • It all depends...
I dont think that doing white magic and casting spells can send you to hell, it is just you being you- but if they turn grey, watch out- I do however, think that black magic will get you sent to hell. If your intentions are good then you will probably be ok, for example if you saved a person from dying thats not going to get you sent to hell, so if you do good things with magic, then shouldnt the same apply?

  • As long as you're not sinning, no
The first question I can imagine one asking is: Isn't practicing magic condemned in the Bible? Well, eating of a particular tree was once a sin, eating certain foods was once a sin (for Jews, it can still be viewed as sinful), and at one time you were supposed to kill your child if he disobeyed you...so, is the practice of certain types of magic (or what not) a sin today? First of all, I like to always go back to the BIG TEN: I don't see a problem there as long as you're not using another god "before Him." I think we need to be careful about using spirits and other "unnatural" objects to preform tasks - and we need to make sure that God always stays first. There are other passages that speak on witchcraft, and it all seems to be negative - but, rich people are always spoken of in a negative manner as well, so if all magicians are going to hell, then anyone who has a greater-than-average general income is also going to hell (pretty much the entire population of western Europe and the United States to name some examples). While I don't doubt that as a possibility, I do doubt it as a practical interpretation of the Bible. I would tend to believe that witchcraft, in and of itself, is just another way of doing things - just like we might use "science" or brute force to solve a problem, why not use witchcraft?
